There’s No Secret to Balance (And That’s the Relief)

Okay—take a breath with me.

All the way out.

Here’s the thing I wish someone had told me years ago:

There is no secret.

Really. There’s no hidden formula, no perfectly color-coded schedule, no magical work-life balance that suddenly makes everything feel calm and easy.

One quote says it best:

“There’s no such thing as work-life balance. It’s all life. The balance has to be within you.”

And honestly? That hit me right in the chest.

Because work isn’t separate from your life. Your roles—mother, partner, employee, entrepreneur, friend, caretaker, dreamer—they all flow through the same nervous system, the same body, the same heart.

You are the leader. You get to decide how you show up, how you feel, and how you move through the many responsibilities pulling at you every single day. And if you’re here reading this, it’s probably because something inside you whispered, “There has to be a better way.”

This Is for the Woman Who Wants Flow—Not Hustle

If you’re overwhelmed…If you’re stressed…If you’re tired of grinding, pushing, and white-knuckling your way through your days…

This is for you.

What we’re talking about here isn’t adding more to your to-do list. It’s not about “doing more” or becoming someone else. It’s about shifting your state of being.

Flow. Spaciousness. Intentional productivity. Moving through your day with clarity instead of chaos. Not hustle. Not grind.

Success isn’t about perfectly balancing work and life like they’re on opposite sides of a scale. It’s about integrating them in a way that feels right for you. We often tell ourselves we need to be 100% at everything—work, family, health, relationships, personal growth—and then we wonder why we’re exhausted.

You don’t need to be everything to everyone.

You need to get clear on:

  • What matters most right now

  • What season you’re in

  • What values you’re building your life around

And then let the rest fall away.

Yes—you really can have it all. Just not all at once, and not without intention.

The First Step: Assessing Your Current Reality

Before we change anything, we have to look honestly at where we are.

One of my favorite tools for this is the Wheel of Life—a classic coaching exercise that’s been around forever (and for good reason). It helps you take a snapshot of your life across key areas like:

  • Community & connection

  • Career or business fulfillment

  • Wealth (not just money, but freedom and security)

  • Health & wellness

  • Friends & family

  • Romance or partnership

  • Self-acceptance & embodiment

  • Spirituality

Grab a pen and paper and, intuitively—no overthinking—rate each area from 1 to 10.

No judgment. No shame.

A “4” doesn’t mean you’re failing. It just means, “Oh—this is an area asking for care.”

Maybe your community feels like a 7 and you’d love to bring it to a 10. Maybe wealth feels low right now—and that’s okay. Awareness is power. You don’t need to fix everything. Choose two or three areas that feel most alive, most tender, or most important in this season. That’s where we begin.

INTEGRATING NEW, ALIGNED ACTION

With your Wheel of Life Audit, you now start to integrate into your weekly flow. I like to look at my week in 3 blocks of time - morning, afternoon, evening. When do you have the most time and feel the most activated? That's the block you're going to use to work on one of your life wheel categories. A few at a time, switching them over longer periods of time.

For me, the mornings are my coaching business time. I schedule my program calls, my podcast, my marketing and course development in the morning. I also choose Faith and weights in the morning. These 3 key elements take turns for stage time during the week but they all cycle through, before I wake my daughter up and start the school run + work day (job).

You need to figure out, not force, what blocks of time are best for your energy to action your mission. What does your morning look and feel like? I used to be a night owl but once I switched to the morning, I found I was no longer chasing all day and getting it done first thing gave me so much peace. I am not perfect but I have made huge progress and alignment on following through.

Give yourself grace to experiment as you anchor these pieces into daily / weekly routines. This is where self-leadership begins. This is discernment. This is allowing as you become, as you make changes, as you clear away chaos for clarity. No performing or proving, just experimenting your way forward.

What Do You Believe Is in the Way?

We all have stories:

“I don’t have time.”

“I don’t have money.”

“My kids need me constantly."

“I’m too tired to even start.”

“I can’t focus.”

“I always start the wrong thing.”

Pause here.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I believe is in the way?

  • Where did that belief come from?

  • What evidence do I actually have?

And then—this is important—ask: What have I already overcome in my life that proves I’m capable? Because you are.

THE SECOND STEP: Casting the Vision (Without Pressure)

Vision doesn’t have to mean five-year plans and rigid goals.

It can be simple.

What do you want your days to feel like?

  • Time for your body

  • A deeper spiritual connection

  • Clients who feel supported and seen

  • Sundays that actually restore you (yes—spa days count)

  • Happy kids—not perfect kids, just supported ones

  • Relationships with room to breathe

  • Financial stability that lets you exhale

Let yourself imagine without immediately shutting it down with logic.

Vision isn’t about control. It’s about direction.

Values: Your Guiding Light

This might be the most important part.

Your values are the reason behind everything you do.

When your actions and values are misaligned, guilt creeps in. Burnout follows. Resentment grows.

Ask yourself:

  • What actually matters to me?

  • Where am I betraying my values in the name of productivity?

  • Where am I people-pleasing instead of honoring myself?

People pleasing is sneaky—and exhausting.

Many of us learned early that love came from being “good,” “helpful,” or “easy.” But living that way long-term disconnects you from yourself.

Integrity isn’t about perfection. It’s about alignment.

When your choices reflect your values, life feels lighter—even when it’s full.

This Isn’t Complicated—It’s Intentional

You don’t need to overthink this.

You can literally Google a list of values, circle what resonates, and narrow it down.

Your body will tell you what matters.

Expansion. Tightness. Chills. Resistance.

Pay attention.

Because when you start living from your values—not your triggers—you stop reacting and start leading. And that’s when something beautiful happens:

You don’t just manage your life.

You start loving it.

Everyday. On purpose.
