Using life coaching to.....

Do you coach to create results which you can then use to convert more clients

Or

Do you coach as part of your Kingdom Responsibility to serve and help others expand!? 

My favourite coach and mentor rarely to never uses testimonials in her marketing or as proof of value from working with her. She has testimonials, more than we could ever collect in our lifetimes, but that's not what it's about for her. And here's why I love that so much.

Coaching is not some flashy, sensational zero to hero journey guys. Those kinds of results come from Mastery, which takes time and consistency and ongoing revelation and growth in YOU and in your clients, all helping each other to win.

If the coach isn't growing, she isn't working as a disciple. 

This blog started as a homework assignment. And then it became a revelation. Clearly, I've been thinking a lot about what it actually means to coach.

Not how to coach. Not how to get more clients. Not how to build a six-figure coaching business.

But why I coach in the first place.

Was I coaching to create results that I could then use to prove my coaching works?

Or was I coaching because I've been given gifts, experience, perspective and a calling that I can use to serve other women as they become more fully who God created them to be?

Those sound similar. But they are not.

The coaching industry can sometimes make coaching sound like: Come in one way; six weeks later, emerge completely transformed. Just invest ten thousand dollars and you'll solve the problem.

And listen, I believe deeply in transformation. And that transformation is deep, soul level deep, cellular level deep, Holy Spirit confronting you deep. 

Hence, the kind of transformation that lasts is not flashy.

• It's mastery.

• It's consistency.

• It's revelation.

• It's healing.

• It's identity.

• It's practice.

• It's growth over time.

It's the woman herself becoming more capable of leading her own life.

And that takes time.

Which brought me to the uncomfortable realization that I was making my coaching about what I could do for you.

• How good could I be?

• Could I ask the right question?

• Could I create the breakthrough?

• Could I get the result?

• Could I prove that I'm a really good coach?

That's coaching from the flesh. Because when I make coaching about me, I'm focused on proving. BUT when I make coaching about her, I'm focused on serving.

And there is an enormous difference. And here's where I think we sometimes get ourselves into trouble. We make our work about what we want to get from it.

• "I want a $100K month."

• "I want 10,000 followers."

• "I want a six-figure coaching practice."

• "I want to be known."

There is nothing inherently wrong with wanting any of those things.

But what if the deeper vision was instead:

"I want to serve women on their journey toward glorifying God, using the gifts He's given me, for as long as He calls me to do it."

Do you think you would feel more free as a coach, more YOU, to show up to serve rather than be focused on what you can gain?

Don’t we in fact GAIN MORE from just BEING who we are supposed to be? 

For me this means I'm learning to coach from Spirit instead. To trust that I don't have to manufacture someone's transformation. I don't have to be the hero or "rescue" them. Especially that I don't have to have all the answers and make myself indispensable.

My job is to listen. To notice. To ask. To challenge. To encourage. To hold space.

To reflect back what she may not yet be able to see. To help her reconnect with her own authority under God. And then...let her lead.

That is freedom. And it has made my coaching so much deeper.I'm not reaching for the perfect coaching move. I'm not performing. I'm not trying to prove anything.

I'm simply present. And somehow, in that space, I'm a better coach than when I was trying so hard to be a great one.

Praise the Lord. 😂

Because when I show up FOCUSED and INTENTIONAL on her, when I coach ONE woman 

She becomes more whole.More confident.More grounded.More capable of hearing God.More willing to use her gifts.More able to lead herself.

And then she takes that into her family, work, relationships, community. And OUR ripple effect grows. That woman impacts someone else. Who then impacts yet another someone else. And on it goes.

More women becoming more fully who they were created to be and carrying that goodness forward. It's almost like a multi-level marketing system for the Kingdom. 😂

Except the currency isn't commission.

It's love, service, purpose and transformation.

The money, growth, audience, business all can be a result.

But they aren't the reason. Service is the reason.

And that doesn't mean you shouldn't benefit from your work. Please GET PAID. Build the business. Create something sustainable.

But stay connected to building from "Look what I've been entrusted with." versus "Look what I can get."

One keeps you looking at yourself. The other makes you look outward.

Getting too caught up in ourselves can actually become a distraction. We spend so much time asking:

• "Am I enough?"

• "Am I successful enough?"

• "Am I good enough?"

• "What do they think of me?"

• "What if I fail?"

• "What if I'm not where I should be?"

(Seriously I have those moments all the time!) But meanwhile...There are people who need what you have. There are gifts inside you that haven't been expressed yet.

There are people you're uniquely equipped to serve. There is a role only you can play.

You truly are here on purpose. For a purpose. So let God use you, act from Look at what God can do through me and become a leader who is free from gripping the outcome, looking for a sensational testimonial, seeking fame and attention. It’s not a popularity contest. 

It’s a sacred space for healing, for witnessing other women in their growth, making it safe to be vulnerable and unsure, for creating a stronger identity, revelation, connection, humanness, and for purpose. 

And then take that wholeness back into the world. Because when one woman becomes more fully herself, her life changes. And then the people around her change. The work she does changes. The way she leads changes. The way she loves changes.

And something bigger is built. That, to me, is coaching. That is discipleship.

And that is the kind of coach I want to be.

Not the woman standing at the centre saying,

"Look what I can do for you."

But the woman beside you saying,

"Let's discover what God has already placed inside you—and figure out how you're going to bring it to life."
