you can have it too

Have you ever found yourself admiring someone from afar, and wish you had what you see?

AKA - Coveting! Idolizing. Wishing for something that someone else has....

It's a common trait to look at others with a hint of jealousy or comparison, but do you also realize or appreciate what they chose, or went through, in order to have "that"?

I've recently had a series of revelations around this yearning, desire, wishing for, that is reshaping my internal state of BEing and I believe it might just do the same for you.

While at the beach (thank you Lord for a late summer, ocean swimming in Sept!) I noticed a mom, with two young girls, who had what I would call "a rocking body"! Like lean, fit, muscular but feminine. The kind of athletic body I yearn for, desire, wish I had...... Yep little mister deceit and jealously started to TRY and tempt me!!!

BUT the difference that day was that rather than the familiar feeling of scarcity, I had a new feeling of - Dude you can have that too, just work for it. SO SIMPLE.

My result will be different than hers, right? In all likelihood. And I don't know what her story is, but if she has TWO kids, both younger than mine, and can prioritize herself and CHOOSE healthy habits (presumably) there is no reason I can't, other than I am being lazy and just plain NOT. PS she is evidence of choices I am not making, full stop.

OUCH right. Gotta love a dose of personal responsibility. But it's delicious. BECAUSE recognizing this shift, with grace for yourself, is where we can move into transformation judgement free and with safety to TRY.

What stands out is the plain reality that emerges when we look beyond the surface. Often, we admire someone's results without fully appreciating the struggles, celebrations, overall CHOICES they made to get there. It's easy to idolize success, but more difficult (and rewarding) to appreciate the person behind it, with all their flaws, pains, and resilience. And then, relate to that part!!! (ie it may not be easy but it will be worth it, but it can be easy too!).

You know, this one song always GETS ME. As I was listening to it this morning, singing along (badly and alone), and I thought of you (yeah you, the powherfull woman reading this, HI I love you!). I want to share the lyrics with you, and the feeling in my spirit when I play it.

Its Sugarland's Baby Girl. Give it a listen and lean in to this part....

I know that I'm on my way

I can tell every time I play

And I know it's worth all the dues I pay

When I can write to you and say

ITS WORTH ALL THE DUES I PAY

If we want the results, we have to put the work in.

So a few things to pull out of all this.

  1. Admiration without Action can lead to frustration. But admiration with a decision to act, to strive toward your own goals, is empowering. You can achieve what you desire if you commit to it, but the path involves consistent work.

  2. Personal Responsibility is key. Acknowledging that our outcomes are directly tied to the choices we make and the habits we form is crucial to breaking free from procrastination or idolization. If we see something someone else has, and we want it, it's up to us to make the choices to achieve it.

  3. Empathy for Others and for Yourself allows us to see beyond someone's exterior, recognizing their hidden struggles. This empathy turns comparison into connection, allowing us to celebrate their victories while appreciating our own journey. Give yourself Grace and forgive yourself for not choosing, now that you are aware you can make a new choice.

  4. Self-Compassion helps us forgive our past choices and gives us the grace to make new, better ones without guilt or shame. Eventually the "pain" of the status quo, of staying the same, will overtake the discomfort of the new choice, the change, the WORK.  I pray for you to do so peacefully, willingly and joyfully.

  5. Start small. Daily habits, daily awareness, experimenting until you find your flow.

Even just getting used to the idea, the action, the woman who does.... First she "bees". The photo for this post is me, today, "working out" in my office over lunch. It was not a lot, but it was more than I have been doing. I decided and then I executed before the mind excused my way out of it (again). I won't lose 20 lbs from that ONE workout, but I WILL GET THERE by choosing to exercise more often than not over a period of time.

So,

  • I can totally have a super fit body, I have to do the work (make a repeated choice) to get it (whether I feel like or not!)

  • I can totally have a thriving coaching business, I have to do the work to get it (for long enough and effective enough that it sticks!)

  • I can create the life I want, by making aligned daily choices towards it over a long (ish) period of time.

The work isn't necessarily hard or a lot, but it's consistent and really focused in order to get the best return on time when you are doing it.

THE PERSON YOU ARE BEING, BRINGS FORTH THE ACTIONS YOU ARE DOING.

So, BE the woman who choose to move towards what she wants by making new choices, by getting to know "her" and letting her lead (yup which means you will resist!!! but only for abit because SHE will get you through it). With enough time and practice she does appear and take the lead and you will see transformation occur. Like seeds planted in the soil (the typo said soul, worth mentioning haha!), they will appear in their time....

We can look up to others not as figures to envy, but as inspirations that motivate us to write our own story. How do you plan to channel this newfound clarity into your own daily life? Would love to hear more about clarity and new choices brewing in your heart.

(worth a write on your WHY in the next one!)

CURRENT OFFER: powherfull habits!

Who are you being versus who you want to be

The choices you make either lead your forward or keep you the same

Therefore! HABITS!

Imagine waking up and having an actual soul aligned plan for the day.

Imagine waking up and having a TO BE List, not a to-do list.

Imagine feeling organized, spiritually filled, and energized to focus and act on what actually builds the life and business you want; versus fumbling around with chaos and "off the side of the desk", over caffeinated and frantic.

Being able to 'choose your own adventure" on key areas of your life, working on them for 10 days at a time, building the automation into your life, how spacious, how flowey, how fun and effective would that be!

Being connected and working on the daily for;

  • Spiritual Expansion

  • Emotional Intelligence

  • Body Connection

  • Business Simplicity

And not figuring it out alone, but having a fun and accoutnable group of other hungry women tired of figuring it out on the fly. Reverse engineer it for a hot second and have a plan, a map, a guide to BUILD WHO YOU ARE AS YOU BUILD YOUR DREAM LIFE.

Release judgement, but truly observe and apply daily discipline to what you say you want.

It starts today, its time to change, to grow, to get willingly uncomfortable just for a bit, in order to push through the status quo and GROW!!

I am waiting for you!!!
